Hi all.

I have just started a new career in 1939 with a Type II Boat -U-1.
I'm on my third patrol and have come across an S-Class British submarine.
Is there any value (as far as renown is concerned) to sinking this vessel??
It is only 700+ tonnes so dont fancy wasting one of my five precious torps!!

Should I bother??

By the way, does my boat - U-1 have any significance at all??? (like the famous U-571 etc)???

Just ignore it, and go for much bigger targets. As for your U-boat No., not sure if it has any real significance.

Thanks papa_smurf. Didnt think it would be worth it.

I just thought with my boat having the name U-1 that it may have been "special"!

Ha Ha.

Turns out that its just ME thats "special" huh??

Aye just stay away from those subs if able.. on the surface their deck guns will make mince meat outta ya!

occassionally they will be sailing in a convoy...

Thanks for the input and the welcome Hanomag.

Much appreciated.

Thanks everyone for the advice.

Just found out that my boat U-1 was lost on 6th April 1940. She never sunk or damaged a single enemy vessel! Great huh!!
