GWX 2, needs a FRESH SH3 1.4b installation to work. If you already have a fresh
install of SH3 and patched to 1.4b skip straight to step 5 now. If not...
1. Ensure that commander is rolled back, and disable all mods with JSGME
2. Commence uninstall using add/remove programs in the control panel
3. Delete the Silent Hunter III folder in my programs to remove all traces
4. ReInstall SH3, and then, when installation is done, if you need to... patch it to 1.4
If you require the patch, please visit the SH3 website
(http://silenthunteriii.com)
5. Visit the Official GWX Hompage (http://gwx.mysite.orange.co.uk/)
select "Download links" and download the GWX exe and the 7 Bin files.
6. Save the Bin files and the EXE in your computer all together in a folder
"GWX 2" for example. But the 7 Bin files and the exe must be together in
a folder. (Tuck the complete download away for future use)
7. You are now ready. Double click the exe (the wolf paw print) and thats that!
When its finished you are now ready to start playing.

sound advice from penelopy grey mate.....
just a couple of points.
the patch to upgrade sh3 on the ubisoft page will read patch 1.3(europe)
dont be confused with this...it is the right patch
secondly...if youre using commander..you will need to update it with the 4 config files that come with gwx2.0
simply copy and paste (or drag and drop) these files into your c/prog files/sh3 commander/config folder.
it will ask if you want to overwrite....click yes.
this should update sh3commander for gwx2.0
if you havent got commander then im blethering for nothing....but you should try it its good mate:up:

Jeez, that's where I went wrong, knew things weren't right when on Patrol; it was the little things like men throwing themselves off the Sub and no sign of Bernard
I shovelled those files thru JSGME .. Verdammt, back to the drawing board :damn:
BTW, Mooncatt, if you're uninstalling SH3 completely before doing a fresh re-install, please remember to delete the SH3 folder in 'My Documents' as well

Thanks.

Yes. SH3 Commander works outside of the game, so if it's already installed you can roll back what it's done before, and if it's not you can install it any time. Just remember to follow the instructions and check the GWX files that come with it.
