Funny thing after xfer to freemantle

I'm using tm 1.7.5, row, rsrd looks good. Finally found some ships to sink. Got back into Pearle, then transfered to freemantle. The funny thing was the first mission was two recons up by Dutch Harbor, then go to DH. Now why didn't I get that while at Pearle. At least while on the way I got a medium tanker. Back down by Indonesa looking for targets. I almost like this game better than shIII.

The game chooses your next patrol's first objective(sometimes several) at the end of the patrol, and your transfer takes place after that, while you're in the office. So even though you transfer to a completely different flotilla, your patrol objective remains.

Yeah, that can sometimes mean a long trip before you get to your objective :cool: .

I usually only do a transfer, for example from PH to Brisbane, when I get an objective at the Marianas or around Truk, that way the distance to travel is about the same.


Another thing I noticed: I started a patrol, then saved it right after the start, had to exit the game for a while, then when I started the game again, I chose to load the auto-save leaving the base. This autosave is always at the date of departure, and I've had some instances where this meant I could install an SJ-radar set, which wasn't available when I docked at the end of the previous patrol. Now I use this trick often to get an upgraded piece of equipment or a new brand of torpedoes just before I leave on patrol:know: .
