View Full Version : Stuck in Marshalls
overandout

I have been searching for days fruitlessly on my 1st patrol (1941) looking for some convoys or even single merchants limping around. Any idea how to get them or inform HQ to deploy me elsewhere? I even drew a circle of 250nm. I can't send any messages b/c the sub won't surface beyond 15 ft. Any reasons?
TIA!

You should patrol whithin a 100km radius, for a period of 48 hours, at which time you will then see the objecitve as "complete"(icon will turn grey). You should be able to send "Status" reports anytime on the surface. Contact reports is only avialable when you have visually spotted a convoy(of any size). The boat will never show a depth to keel less than about 12' or 4m.
Good luck,
Tom
I see this is a double post.
As mentioned in the other post, 50nm, not 100 or 150.
15 feet IS surfaced.
HQ only responds to messenges sent under certain circumstances (see other post.) Note the difference between the orders to "Patrol" and "Deploy" Deploy will be accompished as soon as you get "close" (40-100 miles) and patrol may require 1-3 days.
The Marshalls are notable for their lack of contacts. Don't put high expectations there. My impression is Marshalls is intended as a decent launch or staging point from which to begin your patrols to more lucrative areas or to join the Battle of Midway.
