Hi
I'm trying to come back to this game after finding out about some of the new mods & improvements...

So... I donated my $5 bucks to subsim & dl'd GWX 2.0. I then discover i'm running version 1.2... Not only that but i have no more activations left on my serial number after having to wipe my c drive last year (sh3 is installed on F).

So i'm wondering if anyone knows if there is an update from 1.2 to 1.3 then 1.3 to 1.4b? I sure can't find it. I found the update to 1.3 but it also wants to install from 1.0 only.

Any help would be appreciated!

What you do is....
1. Uninstall Silent Hunter III completely
2. Re-install Silent Hunter III
3. Use Gameshadow to update Silent Hunter III to version 1.4
4. Go to the Subsim link for the GWX mod and download all the files.
5. If you use Silent Hunter III Commander, get the updated config file for that here: http://gwx.mysite.orange.co.uk/

6. Run the GWX executable file to install GWX 2.0
7. Read the GWX manual and put in whatever mods from the GWX mods list that you want.
8. Get the Torpedo Damage Final mod from here: This mod is a MUST HAVE ! http://hosted.filefront.com/OceanBlue
9. Make a folder in the Silent Hunter III mods folder called "Torpedo Damage" and unzip the file into it.
10. Run the Generic Mod Enabler (JSGME) in your Silent Hunter III folder and activate the torpedo damage mod.
11. All set. Ready to play.

Hmm I thought you could patch to 1.4 from any version?

Give it a go - there are 2 versions of the 1.4 patch though, one for US and one for EMEA. Download the right one, and run it and see if it will patch your game.

The patch application makes some references to "patching to v1.3" somewhere while it is running, don't get freaked out, thats a bug.

Good luck

4 actually.
there's also "DVD" and "Download" for each (US and EMEA)

Ha! That one got me too. I thought there was an error at Ubisoft in dispensing the wrong patch version. Had me confused and concerned til I started the game.

A bit late now, but the patches are cumulative, so you can start straight from 1.4 (which as alrady pointed out has been misnamed 1.3)

Glad your sorted
