Can anyone pls help?! I have played this game for over a week w/ manal setting and still can't hit anything. I downloaded Capn Scurvy's mod on range finding, but it won't work. I don't get any red area to appear in the id manaul. I even have his AOB calculator and read on how to find the AOB that a moderator posted.
Is it that I am not finding the correct ship? I thought I simply move the Stadimeter image's waterline until it touches the top of the target ship's highest mast. Isn't that right? I have the PK on and update it repeatedly, but NOTHING WORKS!:damn: . Anyone have helpful advice? I am tired of watching others do it and want my time to shine.
I really value your ideas and am so jealous of the ones who have had such a satisfying experience. Why not help someone else get to enjoy it also?
TIA!

Check out Wernersobe's Tutorials in the stickies, especially the Basic one, it is very well done :yep: You sound frustrated, as you should be, MT is not easy, there is much trial and error involved, but don't give up. For the most part the tutorial above got me started.
One thing that I find helpful is once I have set the range, AOB and speed, I switch to the attack map to see if my settings are correct, if not I go back to the Attack Scope, bring up the Stadimeter and make the neccessary adjustments, I do this until I was confident for a hit, then it is tin fish away :D

Don't give up on MT, it's really delivers a good sense of accomplishment. While your learning, try this, it's a really easy way to ban the triangle and enter the world of MT. Must have "map contacts on".
Position yourself within 500 yards or so from your targets path at a 90 degree angle. Have your torp doors open and torps set as you wish. The torp trajectory is auto set to 0 degrees, or straight ahead (if'n you haven't fiddled with it previously), so you don't have to worry about that. When you see the target enter your periscope field of vision, fire when you feel its appropriate. After a few misses, you'll figure out what's "appropriate" for either slow, medium or fast moving targets.
Basic target leading, easy schmeasy.
Also try the Dick O'Kane method as most excellently described by Rockin Robbins. It's a more advanced version of the above with target speed, etc. being entered into the TDC. More here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=652326&postcount=67
Have fun!
