explenation of screenshot:
fired torpedo at 3 meters, torpedo hits bow and bounces of and on the deck, torpedo juist bounces up the deck for at least 10 minutes and then goes right trough the ship
never shoot at ships with decks awash :yep:

There were three ways to sink a ship using a torp: Flooding, Keel breaking, and Overweight. Trust me, I studied this:know:

I've actually read some stories about torpedoes jumping out the the water and landing on the decks of ships.
I recall one that happened in WWI where the Captain had his sub surfaced.. then left his first officer in charge and went to bed. He was awakened about 20 minutes later by a loud "CLANG !!!" He jumped out of bed and ran up to the bridge where he saw the watch guys standing there as white as ghosts. As he looked in the direction they were looking at, he saw an enemy sub not far away, pointed right at them and a torpedo heading right toward them. Luckily, the enemy sub captain had set the depth too low and this torpedo went right under them.
After they eluded the sub, he came to find out from the watch guys that they didn't see the sub until it was too late and the "Clang" was the sound of a fired torpedo as it jumped out of the water (by catching a wave JUST RIGHT). Apparently it jumped out of the water, banged down on top of the deck, bounced, hit the water on the other side and kept going. I can imagine that the captain of the enemy sub was really cursing a lot when he saw that happen.:damn:

Wow, man!! It whoud be interesting to see look of the face of enemy sub captain in moments when he watchin how his torpedo dance LAMBADA on deck and then just go away!! :rotfl:

I looked up where I read the story. The Uboat this happened to was U-35 under the command of Arnauld de la Periere. One of the guys on watch was Prince Sigismund who just happened to be the Kaiser's nephew.
Aparently, the thing jumped from the water, and hit the deck totally on it's side so the warhead part didn't impact. The thing kept going forward and just slid off the other side and kept going.
I think that was the luckiest day that U-35 had ever had. :rotfl:
This may have been the first real world manifestation of "Bernard" in some way.

I've seen the odd DC go straight through my hull once or twice (using external view) but never managed to take a screenshot http://www.psionguild.org/forums/images/smilies/wolfsmilies/wacko.gif
