Unzoom?

Just joined this forum, but have visited it often after Christmas. Received SH4 at Christmas. Loaded SH4 and then loaded patch 1.4. Everything worked without any adjustments in no small part by all the good hints found on this forum. I really appreciated the hint that you don’t have to put the DVD in the drive every time you fire up the game. Think I still would be putting it in the drive.

I have a new computer, since November, consisting of a HP with AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+, 4gb of RAM, PNY Verto GeForce 8500 GT (512MB), upgraded 430w PS, 2ea 320 gb HDs, and use MB integrated sound. Will probably add sound card someday. The choice was mainly for video editing.

My only previous sub game was Silent Service which I played on a Commodore 128 (128 KB of RAM). Guess that dates me.

I could use some help on a few problems:
Zoom with TBT. When I zoom using “Tab” key it zooms. Great, but it will not unzoom. The mouse wheel doesn’t work to zoom or unzoom. The mouse wheel works in periscope views only and the “Tab” key works there. Anyone else have this problem

Also I cannot just mouse click on the periscope in the control romm and go to periscope. Saw this done in excellent videos downloaded from this forum. Did they have a Mod for this?

AFAIK the TBT only has 1 magnification level. Its just a nice pair of binoculars attatched to the boat, whereas the periscope has 2 zoom settings.

Not sure about your periscope problem. Clicking it in the control room works just fine for me.

You can always just use the "O" key for the observation scope, and the "F4" for the attack periscope.
