On patrol, I happened to look at my crew and suddenly noticed that a number of them had arrows on their portrait.
What does it mean? Mousing over says they were promoted, but I'm still on patrol...

IRL, they conducted schools on subs during patrols. Once the crewman could demonstrate certain knowledge and skills, he'd be promoted. Of course, the official paperwork would have to wait until the return to base.

I would assume (hope not to make an ass of myself), the promotion in game would raise the ratings of the individual crewman. Although, I have not checked it out. I'm not sure how to tell who will promote. Just seemed too tedious to record the dozens of crewman's skill set levels.

They all got the clap while on leave.:p

Really tho I've always wanted to know what those gold arrows meant too.

When I get back to port those arrows are gone.

Earning their dolphins! Yes, those who get this arrow get better!
