I'm docked there after my first patrol, wouldn't want to get bombed and join the 2nd patrol and you're dead club that way, luckily mozzies don't impress me, seen far worse in France and Germany in later years....:doh: B24s pack quite a wallop you know...

Something bugs me though. You say you got damaged by aircraft in grid AN (aka north sea) and then you figure out you need to patch up in Tripoli (Libya, in the Med) Quite a detour. Not to mention Gibraltar in the way. You probably meant grid CN, right?

Almost every patrol starts with heavy bombers making an air raid on your harbour! Air raid sirens, spotlights, its like the blits in reverse!:up:

In an earlier version of GWX, as the end of the war approached,you could get jumped by planes coming in or out of port.
Scared the bejeezus out of me the first time it happened. Had the flak guns manned in port after that and kept pinging the bottom to see how soon I could dive on the way out. Really a "Das Boot" sensation.

Sounds like the latest rendition of GWX retains something of this. Scary fun.
