Guys I have a few more questions (I'm noob sorry, I just started playing, this is the last thread of this kind I promise)

1. Why do we have the observation periscope? Isn't the attack one sufficient? Has anyone ever used the obs periscope?

2. "Hard to Port" will make a 90 degrees turn to left, correct? Cause it seems more than 90 degrees when it does it... :-S

3. When do we have to press J (Deploy Decoys)? What do these decoys do?

4. What does the command ' (Rudder Amidships) do? I understood that the "Rudder" is that thingy that moves when you turn left or right... helps with the steering... but I didn't understand the command :nope:

5. Is there any writen tutorial on the forum that teaches you how to find out speed and aob or other cool stuff with the compass and the other drawing tools?

6. The dudes from my crew have properties like this: 30/105 (+10)
If I got it right 105 is how qualified is the dude in percents for the current position. In the current example the dude would be more than perfect. 10 seems to be the bonus he receives from the teammates. What is 30?

2) Hard to Port means that the rudder is moved all the way to the left which means that your boat will keep turning left until...

4) You put the rudder amidships, which means you return the rudder to the center position, thus causing your boat to move in a straight line again.

3) Decoys make a noise like a submarine which will confuse the OPFOR for a short time. In tight sitations they may buy you enough time to sneak away.

I will leave the other questions to more expert persons than myself.

WELCOME ABOARD!:sunny:

1. Why do we have the observation periscope? Isn't the attack one sufficient? Has anyone ever used the obs periscope?
The observation periscope is located so it is convenient to use for "observing". It also cranks up to 78 degrees so you can look for airplanes before surfacing. The Attack 'scope is made to be efficient when attacking the enemy. The reality: it's good to have two in case one gets wrecked.

2. "Hard to Port" will make a 90 degrees turn to left, correct? Cause it seems more than 90 degrees when it does it... :-S
As noted, "Hard to Port" puts the rudder all the way left, where it will stay until you center it again. Likewise "Hard to Starboard", except of course starboard is right. "Rudder Amidships" centers the rudder.[/quote]

6. I believe the 30 is the "current" contribution to his compartment, where the 105 is the max. You will see the first number increase significantly when a sailor is on watch versus off duty. I haven't figured out the exact formula but it seems to be related to this.
