GPU comparison

Could somebody please help me with a link for a site that can compare two gpu cards of the same model but of different interface? I need to compare PCI (not express) vs. AGP of one particular model.

There won't be much difference. ALl the BUS is for is moving the textures to the card, so you may have slightly increased loading times, but for gameplay, the textures will be on the card itself, so it won't be any slower.

Here is a couple 1600's (in blue). The memory is slightly faster on the AGP card, so it does a little better than the PCI-E version, but this should make it clear that the AGP BUS is having no effect on the performance of the board.

Doesn't the AGP have better performance because it has dedicated bandwidth and reading textures directly from RAM, rather than copying it into the framebuffer?

Still should be little difference except when something must be moved to the card. If you are moving 512 MB textures, yeah, it might be a bit slower. What PCI card by the way?

nvidia 6200 (256mb). Considering changing my motherboard (for obvious reasons). If I did I'd get a better card too; I would just like to compare 6200 pci and agp to give me some kind of idea if it would be worth it.

At the moment, with vsync off, I generally get around 30 fps. But when things get lively, it can go as low as 12. That's with GWX2.0 BTW.

I'd go the motherboard / New GPU route myself. Having only PCI these days doesn't cut it.

Oops, sorry. :oops: I almost forgot that PCI still exists for graphics cards. ;)

I don't think it does. Just some old die hards out there that still have PCI GPU's. I haven't seen a PCI card for sale in quite some time.
