Early in the war i sometimes run across other country ships and have a hard time telling who is who. I didn't see it in the manual (which i did read through) but is there a color printable file with all the flags and their countries available?

If i'm missing it someplace in the documentation, please point me there

There wasn't even a mention of GWX in the question. Telepathic?

He's stated in other posts that he plays GWX.;)

@Tool, there is also a draggable flag chart on your F5 screen... upper left hand corner.

Sad thing is, I did read it, but must have missed that part, as i picked up on the stopwatch, map, and other charts/graphs. Was sailing patrol #4 this afternoon and found it to be handy.

Tool. Hi!

It's in the big table of contents section labeled,"NEW NATIONS, FLAGS, AND AIRCRAFT MARKINGS"
No, I'm not shouting. ;) It is in all capital letters in the manual. :know:

One other thing: the manual is a searchable PDF. Just search for a related keyword of some kind (like "flag") and you should find it more easily than pawing through all 600+ pages. :)

i know there are tons of things i have missed in the manual, but all you have to do if you think about a question you dont recall seeing in the manual is go to the little binoculars on the menu of the adobe reader, then type in key words to search for such as "flags" or "Deck Gun" or "CAM" etc etc.

it will tell you the pages that your phrase or word is located on, then just read from there, if the first page fails to answer your question, move onward to the next page which meets your search criteria.

1: what version of the manual is in the installation files of gwx 2
2: What is enhanched damage effects. I couldn't find it in the manual ;)

I think I most likely have a old version of the manual... if so what was the gwx site again.

Site link is in my Sig.;)

Manual V.2.03 was included in the download/installation files.
Manual V.2.04 is included on the website.

What is enhanched damage effects? This is not currently answered in either version but is being added to the current WIP manual.....however:

Enhanced Damage Effect:
This option adds several effects intended to better simulate the effects on surface ships (to include surfaced submarines) of hits by bombs, gunfire, and torpedoes, including:

• Oil slicks and trails
• Large oil slicks and oil trails in the path of damaged ships, especially tankers
• Oil slick color is now less violet-colored and closer to the real color of oil• Fires and Explosions
• Reduced some of the impact of fires on display FPS rate compared to stock Silent Hunter III
• Corrected stock Silent Hunter III bugs with catastrophic aircraft explosions, small fires, and depth charge detonations
• More splinters in explosions with splinters, and more explosions with splinters in general
• Large secondary explosions
• Improved fire and smoke effects
• More below-water explosion effects and bubbles as ships sink• Sound effects
• All fires now have sound effects
• You can hear fires in large damaged ships through hydrophones in some conditions
• Added and adjusted new sound effects for explosionsNote: The new effects will not always appear, since the effect depends on where the target ship is hit.

Tool when there is no moon and they are running without lights, colors are hard to make out. I thought for sure I was lined up on a French cargo ship. Looked at the flag, looked at the list, checked the dates, all the French cities are red, recalled a BdU message from last patrol, and let her fly. I'll be damned if the marker didn't show up neutral :damn:. Okay what the heck? I went to the free cam floated right up to the flag looked red, white, and blue... but the light, maybe the blue was black, is that white or is it yellow? Oh well maaaaybee it wasn't French.
Either way they are going down. At least it wasn't as bad as the red flag I sank in another career, that one marked blue. oooopsie
I am still an advocate for reading the manual it is full of great info and I keep it open on the laptop next to my game monitor. Something to do while my men keep watch.

Yea, i sunk a neutral ship the other night because the flag colors weren't what I thought they were... sad thing was i used external view and even "flew" over to it for a closer look... but oh well :arrgh!:

The laptop beside me with the manual up is a good idea... or a 2nd monitor screen with the manual up on that would be real nice. Maybe i need to discuss this with my wife
