Hey, I am having some SH3 problems with tearing. I recently installed a Nvidia 7600 GT card (very fast) and had excellent frame rates, no tearing to be heard of. Then Sh3 was CTDing on me whenever I tried to enter a career, so I uninstalled it. I did something very stupid before I uninstalled the game, which was uninstall GWX shortcuts. So my uninstall was pretty wierd, with lots of crazy messages poping up. I reinstalled, but for some reason setup wouldnt complete after it copied over the game files, just got stuck on "computing system requirements" which I believe proceeds Game shadow installation. So setup could not complete, but the game seems to work properly, wierd though.

Now, I am getting tons of tearing. In Nvidia control panel I force vsync on w/ triple buffering, which does nothing. All my other settings seem to be implemented, antialiasing and everything seems to work good. Does SH3 not support triple buffering? I have enabled synchronization in game, which seems to have double buffering instead of triple, so my frame rate goes straight to hell if it drops below 60; it goes straight to 30, which I don't like at all. (I didn't pay all this cash just to have my video card capped at 30 frames did I? :stare:) Before the crappy uninstall mentioned above I guess vsync wasn't on either now that I think about it since my frames would be extremely high, but I wasn't getting all this tearing. Don't know what to do, any help will be appreciated. Sorry for the long post.
Regards,
Patrick

Alright I was screwing around with the game, vsync will not enable unless its in game, tried different drivers and everything. I think the problem lies with the uncomplete installation. Everything worked very well up untill then. So I need to know, how do I completely remove the game from my system? To the point were it thinks its never seen it before? Because Install Shield goes all screwy when I try to install and uninstall it, so I have to do it manually, and its still screwed up. Any suggestions?
