Sub Never changes

Okay, I know i have posted about this before, but I guess noting has changed, I am currently doing my second campaign in the asiatic with an S-boat and not unlike the first I finished my campaign with an S-boat neither me nor my crew ever received a medal, plenty of promotions though for all of us. and of course I received the oppertunity to teach at sub school. but I never got a new boat it was S-class all the way. both campaigns I did six patrols each in the same boat?? these are my mods in the order they are placed in the game.

and thats it. so??? anyone else have this problem ??

Sounds like you're not completing your objectives. Make sure the icon (big yellow star w/ binocs, flag, etc) turns gray before you head back to the barn.

Once you complete the current objective and the icon turns gray, you can radio in a status report and you'll prolly get a new objective. Assuming you have enough fuel and ammo, you should try to complete that one as well. The more objectives you complete the better your chances of receiving rewards and accolades.

Are you completing your objectives? The objective icon must turn gray then you radio a status report back before you leave the area.

Yes I make sure to complete my objectives, there may be one out of the first campaign, and there was one on the last one but that was it. I can't imagine out of six patrols missing one objective could have that much of a negative effect on you.

I assume in addition to completing objectives you are also sinking all you can with your limited torps and fuel. I just can't see keeping an S-boat the entire war. You're not bringing back lots of dead crew? I haven't had your experience so can't guess at the cause. I'm also guessing you didn't attempt to request a new boat after a while.

How do you make a request for a new boat?, I certainly would if I had known that was an option

You don't. It's offered when you dock.

BTW, you are clicking END PATROL when you finish a patrol, and not just REARM/REFUEL, yes?

I didn't think it was a choice but I thought maybe I had missed something, and Yes I end patrol. I just went ahead and edited the files this time around to give myself another sub, I guess I just will not try the S-boat again

Only thing I can think of is;

Are you completing all your objectives and how much tonnage are you getting?

Getting a medal seems to be tonnage related and how many objectives you complete?

As for the sub upgrade, it might be the same deal as the conning tower changes - get a lucky role and you get an upgrade - if you don't, your stuck with what you've got.

You can ask for a transfer. If the port you transfer to has more modern boats than the one you transfered from, you increase your chance of getting one.

Are you saying A: You can click something to get a new boat or B: Simply because you transfer to a port that has a newer boat your chance increases to get a new boat?
