Finally thought I was ready to take on a Task Force in my campaign. I've been having problems with manual targetting, and finally after some great training material from subsim, I felt confident enough to sneak in a take out a big fat warship.

I got intel of a task force near me and I went to intercept. 3 days later found a perfect spot to sit and wait for the TF to come to me.

Finally had the TF in sight. A big ship was leading the TF - a Fuso BB? I think it was called. From 4000yards away and only using the periscope twice - I managed to put 4 torpedo's right into the same spot and sunk that BB so fast!! I must say it was incredable feeling putting 4 fish into the side of that BB with such accuracy. My first ever warship in SH4 was a 34k tonn BB!!

I think hitting and sinking that BB using the realism 100% settings was and is the most stimulating and exciting gaming moments of my life!! Manual TMA is Dangerous Waters/Sub Command was fun and rewarding - but SH4 manual targetting is even more satisfying then I would have thought before.

**Note - Manual TDC is very difficult and I messed up so many times I couldn't count. Finally after so many attempt I started to understand it more and now its lots of fun. So my point is no matter how hard it is and frusterating it is - Keep trying because eventually when you do start getting is right consistantly - it's one hell of a lot of fun!!

I imagine the skipper and crew were stimulated and excited as well. Train and train for that ultimate moment when it all comes together! Time stands still for an instant before the first torpedo hits. I believe this is what made the skippers aggressive and daring. The crews to follow him into battle knowing his decisions will be good ones! Confident in the tools given to do the job and confidence in knowing how to use them.

You sir, got a taste of that very moment of reality implementing a very powerful weapon known as a submarine. Nice job!
