Just wanted to let everybody know that ATI has released their 7.12 drivers.
For me, it fixed the multiple white/black spots for my ATI Crossfire 3570 cards that I had when I was using the 7.11 drivers (in both SH4 and SH3).

Every time ATI sends out a new driver - I install it - and end up rolling back to 7.6...... If COH and a few other games lockup or crash due to it :damn: - I don't want to go do this all over again. May wait till some others post opinions on it...

I will tell you that the old ATI drivers (pre 7.6) worked great on my older ATI cards, but with the new 3870 cards, I only had the choise of 7.11 (original 3870 drivers) or the new 7.12 drivers. With the original 7.11 drivers, I was getting white or black artifacts all through my SH4 and SH3 games, but the 7.12 drivers, at least that is fixed.

Does the new driver work with ATI radeon X1950 pro and AGP? I had some serious problems getting the previous driver to work with my gfx-card...

Kriller, I can only tell you that my HIS X1950 Pro AGP 512 MB card does indeed work with the 7.12 drivers. But unfortunately, functionality and performance has been anything but consistant among x1950 owners, so take it a grain of salt. SH4 is working fine with the drivers, so is Half Life 2 Episode 2 . . . but that is all I've played so far since installing the new Catalysts. Good luck.:)

Thanks Letterboy.
It's strange because I get a "Can not initialize 3-d engine" when I am trying to launch a game, it was the same with Catalyst 7.11, so back to Omega driver 7.10.. My card is X1950 256 mb Powercolor.
I have an MSI RX1900XTX PCIe card stock clocked an have no problem with any of the drivers so far. It's when I use the ATI Try Tool with 7.8 an above drivers I get random lockups in most games... If I use the CCC all works fine. I only have my memory bumped up a little. Haven't tried the beta ATI Try Tools yet.

I went ahead and installed the 7.12 drivers yesturday and so far they seem to be working fine. I have a saphirre x1950 512mb AGP card. I think there may be a slight performance increase in my case, but it's nothing drastic.

I am running a 1650 pro and anything over 7.6 causes lockups in a number of games - most notably COH. Anyone running a 1650 with these?

I have not had any games fail to load or run on my Sapphire X1950 with any of the recent drivers. Most of these updates are driven by various rendering errors in popular FPS games.

Hi Hope I'm not sounding a bit dum, just downloaded the new ati driver, installed it and now I cant find the control centre to adjust anything, there's something called CCC with allows me to set my display resolution but everything else is gone.
Can any one tell me whats going on

rascal101:
Did you download only the drivers or the complete driver/CCC package ??? If you only downloaded the drivers, you will not have the CCC that you need to control your inputs (as per the ATI driver webpage instructions). You must download the whole package to have the CCC.
I also assume that you removed your old drivers as per the ATI driver webpage instructions too (also use something like DriveCleaner to remove ALL your old drivers so there are no driver conflicts).
