Saw it before, and yes, he obviously came as a big suprise to everbody.

Unfortunately I listened into his CD at amazon as well, and it is only a collection of trivialities. Great voice, nevertheless. It was nobody else than Pavarotti who became aware of him and urged him to turn professional. In fact, he somehow is, having been in master class at an italian top adress for classical singing, and having been singing for free in minor roles in some operas.

But at this stage, and knowing from my father what a snake pit the classical cd market is, he is well-advised with his decision not to jump into it.
