Hello all,

I'm taking a minute from GWX 2.0 to pose a question....but I'll be back in my IIA (gotta start somewhere) in no time.

Did I read the manual correctly (page 107 - revision to the renown system)? Regarding renown, does GWX 2.0 give renown for patrolling your assigned area? Does it give renown for returning to base manually?

I read in the online manual that renown is ONLY rewarded for sinking enemy ships, if this is the case, does it mean that I can go anywhere and do anything and Uncle Karl won't give me a whoopin' when I teleport back to base in my IIA with no fuel, a dead battery, and a bunch of postcards from Spain?

Page 93? It would seem so. I would guess it's so the expansion is consistent across the theatres of operation it covers - if you notice the second bullet pointed piece in that section, because of a bug in stock it is impossible to award renown to Black Sea and Indian Ocean operations for covering alloted patrol grids. That's my guess.

Sorry guys, these changes never made into the final file sets.

So, in the normal Grids, you will still get renown for reaching & 24hrs in your assigned grid but no renown for manually returning to port (this was broken from Stock 1.4b).

Outside of the grids, you will get no renown at all except from what you sink.

Personally, I prefer not to get any renown for following orders and have edited my basic.cfg to suit.:arrgh!:

I'm with Danlisa on this one. I've also edited my basic.cfg file to award "0" renown for reaching the assigned patrol area, staying there for 24 hours and completing patrol. All I get renown for is kills. Try it, it means you really go a-hunting.
