Hi all! I have another film for your kind consideration. I wasn't planning on releasing another film this year, but I've been playing SH4 alot lately and I just couldn't help myself. :) I decided to make a short, but fun video depicting some of the Pacific war.

You Tube and download links provided below. Thanks very much for watching!

The PH part was fantastic! Check out the stickied video thread at the top of ths forum. Some other guys doing great work with video also! Do me a favor, post this one there. Getting a nice collection together! So much so we need popcorn as there are many to watch. I will leave this one where it is for now so all can see the guys who enjoy video are active! Torp just added one today! Keep the action coming:rock:

Getting some very nice video.....perhaps a video contest is in order? Winner takes home something nice from Subsim? Well, we mail to your house....how is that?

Thanks for watching and commenting guys! Sorry about that Warhawk, I just missed the video thread. I'm used to creating a new thread on most forums as alot of the time the video gets lost or simply over looked when posted in a thread with everyone else's videos.

The Pearl Harbor bit was pretty good. I dont think anyones tried to reenact it, let alone shoot a movie on it.

Nicely done Tex. The PH sequence must have taken you a while to set up.
And a big thanks for NOT using modern rock music in your video. A lot of people do that and I find that rock music and WWII-themed stories just don't seem to mesh IMHO.
Kudos on a nicely done film.

What I need in the SH4 Video Only thread is some contest rules and things we are looking for in a SH4 video. Once we agree on these, we set a time frame to upload your work. Then the polling starts. I will handle the contest winner prize. :yep:

Sounds good! I'm gonna be pretty busy until Christmas and January I have alot going on towards the end of the month, but I'll work around the deadline as long as we get at least 2 weeks to make the film.. maybe a month would be better, but I'm not going to complain. :)

PS: Maybe a thread just for the contest would be better than using the everyday video thread? Just an idea. ;)

Aye capt. We need at least two weeks to establish rules and method of presenting. Not to worry mate, ths Santa will be busy also.:yep: For now we use the everyday one then collect the links together on a new thread with poll attached.

Fantastic vid Tex. As some of the others have mentioned, the Pearl sequence is amazing. I'm also lovin' the soundtrack, and the fact that you were able to sync it up perfectly with the torp hits. You've got some mad skills there my man. I wouldn't even know where to begin. Thank you, and keep up the great work!

P.S. I wouldn't want to be the poor bastards in the life raft at the end. :o :rotfl:

Superb video! Very well done! I noticed the depth charges from that Jap DD looked like they were tie-dye. Is this an SH4 bug or video card driver issue or something? I just thought it looked a little psychodelic. :dead::lol:

That raft at the end looked like a terrifying place to be! :o

Thanks Syxx & baxter.

lol Syxx, I noticed that too and still haven't figured it out. I also haven't really tryed to yet, I'm sure it's video card related. I installed SH4 before upgrading video cards so a fresh install may fix that.

Tex;
I don't know if this would fit your creative 'vision' but ref such things as the PH sequence have you thought about combining different games to get the effect you want. The reason I mention this is that I put together a mission in IL2 based on the first wave attack at Pearl, just for the hell of it. I used over 70 japanese aircraft, placed various ships in all the spots they were supposed to be (based on maps found on the net), duplicated the routes/objectives of the various japanese aircraft, a couple of static cameras and simply hit 'play' and watched the action unfold. It actually was quite entertaining just to watch.

With the talent and movie tools you obviously have the results would no doubt be spectacular.
