What's the deal on this mod? I don't know anything about it. Does it change the maps, skins, and weapons to all WWII things? If that's the case, it sounds amazing!

I have downloaded FH2 yesterday (a big download!). Yes, it´s a total ww2 conversion for BF2, centered in the african / mediterranean campaign.

Looks promising, but there are (right now) not a lot of servers available.

Anyway, it´s free!

I don't have FH2 or Battlefield 2, but the original FH was a realistic World War II total conversion. Weapons all were modified to do realistic fatal damage, new vehicles were added with appropriate numbers of crew positions, and they added lots of maps modelled on real battles (like the Fall Weiss). It used to kill my system because there was so much cool junk but if FH2 is anything like the first one, then it's worth getting.

I'm upgrading soon and one of the first 'new' games I want is BF2 + FH2. The D-Day map was a riot with bolt-action rifles, popping out of blast craters to take pot shots at each other, like whack-a-mole.

It's great, but sometimes frustrating. For example:

I'm sure all of you who played BF2 knows that when you get killed, you don't really die, but get mortally wounded, in wait for a medic. Well, there are no medics in FH2. So you wait those 15 seconds all in vain......


And then you die, and have to wait for another 15 seconds before you spawn:roll:

I play this more than SH III/IV at the moment. I have found 4-5 servers with 60+ players on it and the admins don't kick anyone because FH2 appeals to a more mature game play crowd.

I played on a server located in Denmark this past Saurturday with 55+ players non stop for 6 hours - no lag issues either from being in the USA. Admin never had a reason to kick anyone nor did he/she kick anyone, ever.

WARNING:
I removed BF2 off my PC 1 year and 3 months ago. Just got fed up of ranked server nonsense. This past Friday, reinstalled BF2, patched it up to version 1.41, got FH2, installed it and had a BLAST of FUN ... until Punk Buster problems kicked in. So MANY servers kicked me off because of Punk Buster out of date.

Did a Google search and found this:

Downloaded it/installed it/configured it for my games - including BF2 - Updated it and ...

NEVER have been kicked from a FH2 Server since then because of Punk Buster problems.

This MIGHT save you getting a headache.

BTW, damn cool/kewl MOD for BF2!

Many weapons are a - one shot, one kill. Tanks - you need one day of practice before one shot, one kill.
Took me 5 days of practice before I was able to shoot down a plane with a tank.

Strongly URGE you to read the owners manual after the second day of being on the battle field. Lot's of tips in it to give you an edge on the heat of battle. So many noobs just forge ahead and try it without reading it [the manual] and in a battle you will just CRUSH them noobs.

I was very upset when BF2 was a modern military game, there isn't much fun in aerial combat with heatseekers IMO.


Bring back BF1942 how it was! Navy, Army and Airforce MP mayhem... I miss those days.

FH1 was one of the best mods going at the time. I spent more time playing the final version of FH1 then i did playing BF1942+BF2
