My verdict is this http://www.langkawi.dk/smileys/b185.gif
I am so glad SH4 is now stable and also looking forward to GWX 2.0 :D
Spoilt by the vast array of media, perhaps your expectations have become too high
and specific to ever be met to your satisfaction.

Indeed. I don't know how I would get through these holiday periods without SHIII. My return to the Atlantic after a 6 months absense is imminent. Bring forth GWX 2.0. :lurk:

Man its true that the grass is greener on the other side of the fence.
I wonder in what state you would be after watching italian tv. :rotfl:
In my case I would gladly watch the BBC over the junk shows we have over here.

Who are you trying to kid???:hmm: Christmas TV is everything the networks pulled off TV during the rest of year because it bombed, things they were shown 30 years ago and have eternal playback permission for, and the same junk from last christmas scraped from the bottom of the bin and shown again because they can.:x
Im intending to watch DVD's, go the the movies, play SH4 and SH3 with GWX 2.0, take my wife on some nice drives, pack up all the odds and ends reday for moving house in late January.
I may whatch a little TV, but it won't be that much!

It could be worse, we could be without:
Zulu
The Great Escape
Where Eagles Dare
Heroes of Telemark
The Two Ronnies
Only Fools and Horses (yes, the batman episode)
Some Mothers Do Ave Em
Laurel and Hardy (which makes a comeback around Christmas)
And yes, Pingu, which is on every Christmas morning as I excitedly eat my fattening sugary foods from my stocking.Again, it could be worse. We could be watching TV in North Korea:
Venerable Leader Kim Jong-Il presents: A Christmas Carol
A production of 'Silent Night' by the North Korean Nuclear Research Committee
A Korean version of Tom and Jerry - condensed to 5 minutes due to subversive political views found later in the programme
:p
It could be worse, we could be without:
The Great Escape
This one is on for the third time this year. :damn:

Around here, in Connecticut, we're getting inundated with Spider Man II (which they play on the same station every day and I've seen so many times that I want to cry), re-runs of America's Next Top Model (Which seems like it's on all day or every time I turn the TV on regardless of the hour), I Love New York (Same as America's Next Top Model), Flavor of Love (Same as the last two but with a wrinkled guy who totally skeeves me out) I've also seen Flightplan every day this week. The only show I watch now is "The Universe" on The History (or Discovery channel... I don't know which.) every teusday night.
The one refreshing surprise this year was a live action version of my favorite Terry Pratchet novels, The Hogfather ! And it was actually pretty well done ! I just wish it was available on DVD in the States  .
Ah, but to be fair, Das Boot usually makes an appearance on BBC2 around this time of year, the original TV series with English subtitles IIRC! :D
First time I ever saw Das Boot was then.

The Colour of Magic should be out next year :D
But...there is a bit of bad news...

Only with christmass?
I find the Dutch TV completly filled with nonsense programs and shows all year round.
sometimes a good movie now and then but thats it.
the only reason I would keep a TV if it wasnt for History channel / national geographic
the rest is just bull****
what I hate more with christmass is the darn radio
24/7 the same bloody christmass tunes , for 1 day its fun..but after that it starts to piss me off:x

Yeah but what people outside of the UK don't realise is we are forced to pay for a rip-off TV licence to watch these repeats :damn: If we don't have one, we're breaking the law .. work that one out.

To be honest most countries implement a tv license.
Every european country does, maybe not as costly as the british one but its there.
In Italy we pay 110 € per year for the privilege of possessing a tv (doesn't matter if you actually watch the tv).
In France its over 120 € per year.
The only country that doesn't enforce a tv license is the USA.

Here in the UK if you have a recorder video or DVD and a black & white TV you still need a colour license as they record colour, BBC scum.

Well, in Italy there is a one fits all tv license, doesn't matter if its black and white or color tv.
You pay the same amount.
Same thing if you possess a recorder video (vhs) or even gasp mobile phone with the ability to recieve public airwaves broadcast.
Our law is in the standard of the italian way that is to say quite bizantine.
You have to pay a tv license not only on a tv, but on any device wich could potentially be modified to recieve tv airwaves.
Now could a law be so generalistic as to be useless ? :hmm:
Ah the joy of living in italy, for evey law there is a counter law. :rotfl:
Steed, you have no idea how fortunate you are to be living in a civilised country. :yep:

Er, civillised country ? Think again .. as long as we have a Television set, we have to pay for a licence .. even if we do not watch any television.
According to the 'Big Boys Club', we still have the means [apparatus] to watch the 'BBC', then we have to pay for a licence !
So .. you can watch DVD's/Video's all day without watching anything else but as it is thru a Television, you still have to pay a licence fee.
