Its oh so quiet?

Since installing my new graphics card(7600GT)The sound in game has gone all to pot:damn: the sonar man sounds like he's very far away and I can hardly hear him yet when I'm using free cam or the scope he comes in loud and clear,also some of the other voices and commands go either very quiet or vanish altogether:hmm: Its not the sound card cause I've tested it with other things and its working fine,just ingame does this happen,any ideas anyone:hmm:

Hi there. I think i had that problem once...check to make sure your speakers are tuned up right. I have a 5.1 card but forgot to make sure my 5.1 speakers are enabled. I had to tweak my speakers settings after that too.

Sadly checked all the connections and they are fine:nope: the speakers are fine playing music normaly and in game,just some things have gone quiet for some reason,even the explosions of torped ships vanishes sometimes:damn: just don't understand why,nothing has been altered except adding a new graphics card which should have no effect what so ever:hmm: its driving me mad:damn:

When people have had sound problems in the past, turning off hardware acceleration on the sound card has sometimes helped.

Never come across this before.....but you might want to check you have the latest drivers :hmm:

You weren't mid-mission when you switched your vid-card were you? That can really screw things up. And jimb's right, make sure you have the latest drivers.

Managed to get rid of the problem,I'd moved the sound card from near the GFX card to a slot further down the board cause it seemed to be picking up some sort of interferance off it,it hummed through the head phones and speakers,simply moving it back to its original slot returned the hum:damn: but also the vocals to full again:hmm: haven't a clue what this means but I will just have to put up with some added background noise in order to here my vital sonar man;) very strange in all:hmm:
