finishing my career before removing sh3 and commander etc...im just itching to know what im missing!!!!
big thank you in advance to all the hard work, time and effort of the gwx crew...if its anything as good as the first im already over the moon!!!

I keep finding neat little details.
I would say improvements all across the board.
There are a couple of quirky things. You shouldn't start a mission if you've been looking in the museum. You have to exit and reload the game first. Stuff like that.
Definitely worth the trouble to do a fresh install, though.
I don't hear much difference voice-wise.
I am picky about sound, too. Let's just say, this mod has fewer sound tweaks that bother me than any of the "uber-mods" I've tried. The only one I may change back is the depth charge explosion.
Visually there are a couple of jaw droppers. The modders get full marks on the visuals.
Convoy and escort behavior has been so good I sometimes forget it's an AI running those ships ... at least so far.
Yeah, I think you're gonna like it.

Not sure why you have problems with that. Nothing of the sort was reported by the testers and I never had any problems moving from the museum to a mission.
Individual PC's can be quirky.
Glas its working for you though all the same.

GWX 2.0 is superb.
I think Skubber is referring to the 'possible' FPS drop if you go straight into a mission following viewing the Museum. I think I read about that somewhere.

GWX 2.0, fantastic, I really like this release. I am cutting way back on MODS, trying the KISS principle. So now SH3 gets a very nice overhaul with 2.0 and I just flavor it up with a bit of my own spices and its soup time.
Let me put it this way, I did a single mission GWX in the Carib with a IX boat against multiple tankers and a dirigible. I even let the tankers run over me and I really liked the damage model.
OH, and the repair screen has a neat addition when you click on the damaged compartment and activate the repair crew!

That's the way I am going about things from now on. No more adding a bunch of mods (whether it is SH3, Oblivion, or some other game). It just gets to be way too much of a hassle. A simple Sh3 install with 1.4b and GWX installed will make things just peachy. :D

How do you know he doesn't mean it?:hulk:
Well....its like....*hmmm, difficult to explain..* It's kind'a good...but kind'a bad at the same time... More like.....imagine this:
You have won the lottery, and are staying in a really luxurious hotel suite, that costs 7500$ a night.... At your hotel is a "Worlds hottest girls" seminar.. After a hard evening in the hotel bar, drinking champagne (3000$ bottles) and eating caviar (12000$ a pound), you look forward to some R&R infront of the 72" tv in your suite. When you enter the room, seven of the hottest girls from the seminar is lying in your hottub, with...ehmm...no clothes on.. One of them is holding the key to your brand new Ferrari, that the hotel manager gave you as a token of his "friendship". You get undressed while thinking "I HAVE TO BE THE LUCKIEST MAN ALIVE", but suddenly: "You got mail"! A little window pops up on your 24 carat gold laptop, telling you that your donation to subsim has granted you access to an early DL of GWX 2.0!!!!
You throw the girls out of your suite (you do get the Ferrari keys first), packs everything, checks out and jump into your car! You race across the country, and when you get home you nearly fall over your "big rig" in your room. You DL GWX 2.0, and while you wait for the DL to finish, you sell your car and the other expensive stuff on eBay, and donate the rest of your lottery-money to a hard-workin texan' named Neal. After a clean SHIII-install, with the 1.4b patch added on top, you install GWX 2.0. As your sub leaves the pen for the first time, you think: "NOW I AM THE LUCKIEST MAN ALIVE!!!!!"
Well, thats GWX 2.0.......

I've been playing Silent Hunter III since it was released in '05 and have tried it with all the supermods that have ever been made and GWX 1.03 was definitely the best. I'm just about halfway through my last patrol and will be finished in time for GWX 2.0 public release.
With all the things I've been reading and hearing about GWX 2.0 I can hardly wait to download and install, three days seems like forever:rock::rock::rock:
Thanks GWX team for making Silent Hunter III what it is today:up:
Sincerely,
Jimbuna
