View Full Version : long download time for .bin files GWX2 ?
i've started the process of downloading NO.2 ! onto desk top in a new GWX2 file
sh3 is fresh install to 1.4 patch
following instructions as per...
do the .bin files take a while to download i.e 20-30 mins each.
i.ve got up to 2megs download speed...
got sh3 commander on desk top, should the above have gone in here

downloaded the last night, i have DSL, they took about 7 minutes a piece.

It is not strictly about your 2MB connection, but more about the bandwidth allocation given by the server.
I have a 20MB connection, but if only 2MB was allocated for example, that would be the fastest speed I would get, providing of course I was the only one downloading. :up:

my download speed's gott'n up to, well, from 20-30 mins to about 17 mins per file.
still busy on here too !!
is this all the harrumph with N0.2.
and err, can't make up my mind about conrad black - seems such a nice guy on the telly. made me laugh when he said " you always look like a jack-ass in costume.." arh well, reckon he'd know; wait till he gets them prison togs on...:rotfl:

Your partly right mate....I have 3 speed tests bookmarked.....carried out a test on each at 0820GMT today and got the following results:
1) 18.4 :p
2) 13.6 :hmm:
3) 3.8 :huh:
The secret has gotta be finding a platform that you know has been calibrated to a decent accurate level.

Took me about 12-15 mins for the .bin files, as im only on 2Mbps broadband connection:nope:
