Yes its wierd...but what is it supposed to be? looks like random pieces of ship-models

That's the way things get textured in a 3D game.

In this case, the 3D graphic artists missed to change texture coordinates for that poligon (the default values being (0;0)-(1;1), meaning the whole texture).
