hi hunter's

i've started plunging again after removing sh3 weather with roll back - deleting old careers etc.

thing is, i've found a thread showing the values that need changing in the campaign files. i've printed that out - have it infront of me.

but i do not know HOW to access them or CHANGE them.

would a kind and patient individual give me a walk-through for help.

if not i'll have to clean out sh3 et al, and start again. i think once i discover what/how to do it i'll be fine. and this inturn will set me up for future problem solving with such issues: those that have experienced 'the plunge' and changed the values seem to be ok - i'd like to crack it too.

sh3, sh3 commander, xp home edition

much appreciated

Step 1: Go to your program files and find the ubisoft folder

Step 2: go into the ubisoft folder and choose Silent Hunter III, go in there.

Step 3: Go into the data folder

Step 4: Select the folder called campaigns

Step 5: Open each file (campaign_RND, _LND, and _SCR) with notepad, or wordpad, using the right click open with function.

Step 6: go to where it says windspeed, it should say 0. Change it to a 1 or 2 or 3 or whatever you fancy...

Step 7: Save the file, and then exit, repeat process for the other 2.

i have carried out your instructions - they are spot on. might sound obvious, but i have not this before, so each click was tentative and uncertain.

loaded the patrol and have not pluuunged. also, have printed off the info and put it with my ever growing sh3 file of 'how to do stuff.'

thanks again for the simple to follow instructions - hope this has taken care of it now.

p.s could i crank up the FOG values or am i enticing trouble...?

cheers

oh..., the voice of reason...!

calmed the waters...Herr Kaleun.

now...

an easy passage over the saw tooth'ed north rock of Scotland, during the night... clear skies, the moon , lke a clean white plate awaits it's dinner...

there is time, unfortune... there is only time...

a dancer's song - the eager waves of fortune, roll on...

salute..!
