Perhaps it would be a good idea to ask the Neal/the moderators to create a seperate Enigma forum as it is now an on going project again. This may help the visibility/sales of the addon and to develop more interest in "Sink the Hood".

I've removed some of my lines here, since I was wrong.
I got from East background info that helped taking away my concerns about
my order and the companies involved.

I've did an online order for both the classical game as for the 'Hotel Da Volta' Add-on
for Enigma: Rising Tide.

I received an e-mail stating that they are checking my credit card and when all is OK
they will send me a link to download the software.

Since then, I've haven't heared anything of them.

I've send them 2 more emails asking for an update on the status of my order,
but nada - nothing - no replies.

Does anybody else in here have the same experience with the contact address

If your credit card hasn't been charged yet, then there is nothing except delay. It doesn't indicate by itself lack of honesty or anything else, but may be some logistic problems.

In any case, IIRC, EAST stated that no credit card would be charged for the expansion until the minimum number of pre-orders had been reached, so it might be just that, your pre-order has been taken but no release has been done yet. I suppose EAST will read this and reply, but you can also PM him here or post at the official TA games forums :hmm:

Your card will not have been charged; however if for any reason it has been, please let me know asap and I'll see that it is removed.

Regarding the Add-On:

The subsim market has changed a lot since Enigma was released, from no new games in release to 2 SH games on the simulation side; both still being supported by modding communities; Battlestations Midway & Navy Field on the "game" side of the market, and many other independent efforts out there.

While everything we've put into HDV thus far is very good, it does appear that interest isn't very high. We've been getting some feedback on it and are currently discussing some options.

But I've also ordered the game itself.
Do I understand you correctly? Must I wait for "Enigma: The rising tide" as well?
If yes, then there is the cause of the misunderstanding.
I did nowhere read that E-TRT was part of the same 'waiting rule'.

Because of the replies here, I feel less worried.
This all could be clarified in a simple mail I guess.
I only wonder why you guys didn't respond on those.:roll:

I don't get to see the orders.

I think that Resurgent was closed during the last week for the holidays. I don't think you have to wait for HDV to get the other software. Unless you ordered the runtime, that goes with the Add-On and can't be sent stand-alone. I imagine you should get an email from Resurgent Thursday or Friday.

Perhaps you could get Neal/one of the mods to do a review of the addon showing all of the new features and ask for a dedicated Enigma forum at Subsim so that Enigma/HDV does not keep geting pushed down the topic list in "Classic Subsims".

I was hoping for LAN play in HDV, I know you'd mentioned including it in an earlier post about a future ERT patch, it would be great if that was included and that would probably generate more sales for ERT itself.

Noted. You aren't the first with that suggestion. It is under consideration. While we're at it. Anything else that the community feels is seriously needed in the add-on, please post it here. We haven't made a final determination yet; this means nothing is off the table.

It may be too big an addition for the addon but for me land and ports have always been the main things missing from ERT.

Don't know if anyone here ever played FTCII (Fleet Tactical Command 2 PC (ega) & QL ) In that multiplayer LAN only game each player had a fleet under his command including frigates subs and merchant ships and could jump into any of them at any time. In addition a very sophisticated damage model was incorporated. The aim of the game was to knock out the enemy and sieze the neutral and enemy port. It was a fantastic experience, if ERT went along those lines it would be fantastic.

That's a shame...I do hope you reconsider at a later stage, perhaps after you see the end product and read the reviews. I do not think you will be disappointed .

In fairness, as an employee for over 4 years now, East and the Tesseraction Games company have never broken the trust I hold with them, thus making them extremely trustworthy in my eyes.

As for suggesting that Subsim supports an untrustworthy company, I'm sure Neal will have his own opinion of of those questioning the integrity of his associations. :shifty:

my understanding is the Enigma add-on is still in pre-order status. That means when you place your order, you are not charged until the add-on goes live. You say you e-mailed chuckbush at hotmail, where did that e-mail come from? It sounds like you should be e-mailing someone at Tesseraction or Resurgence, right? Don't worry, I also placed an order for Hotel Da Volta last month, so I will speak up when I hear something about its status. I'm sure this will be cleared up.

One other thing, the HDV site does state:

The add-on is eligible for release on December 1st; since the add-on removes all the copy protection, actual release will occur once a target pre-order number has been reached.
All orders will be treated as pre-orders; your check, or credit card will not be cashed or charged until we reach the target and the Add-On link is sent to you.

We had a major setback about 12 weeks ago when I managed to lose all the code in a series of hard drive failures...and didn't have sufficient backups. I've recovered the Enigma code :oops: and recreated what was missing. I now have the security free build working again. I'm recreating the HDV campaign now. We will ship the new campaign with the security removal patch, then I'll recreate the modding and mission building tool.

Since HDV has been a slow starter as far as interest, we were quietly working hard behind the scenes to try and get it done without having to explain...so much for that. :oops:

As soon as the Campaign is rebuilt Resurgent will send out emails with download instructions for the very patient people who ordered it and didn't cancel.

I'd like to know if there is anymore word for the release of Hotel da Volta.
I got my order in last October when news of the release came in.
The orders stand at a around 78%.
Should be sufficent enough to allow the add-on to mailed out to those who placed their orders.

I do find ENIGMA RISING TIDE a good game to play...the music, sound effects of gunfire and explosions add realism. The open ocean has the feelings and atmosphere of putting you on the spot. As it mentions -you are in command!
The game delivers...

When I heard that HOTEL da VOLTA was coming out and there was a chance of doing battle with HMS HOOD, I had my hopes to be able to move on to the next mision...battle with HMS HOOD.

I have come close in previous missions to attack the HOOD, But ran short on torpedoes trying to sink the escorts before setting up my sub for the attack.
Have to find another strategy for attacking.

The update was due for release in May 2008 I think, but still no release.
Just have to keep on waiting when the time comes.

Would be interesting if some news came out as to what the delay is on the update.
Whether work is still being done on it or is there a cancellation on the product???

Just a hint that it is still in progress.

There have been a substantial number of delays for various reasons. Probably the biggest being the new owners have had to change directions several times thanks to changing political and actual climate (they are in Lousiana).

At one point all code was lost and had to be rebuilt; this was around the end of May this year. The executeable has been reconstructed, several of the tools have been recreated and, as I understand, the only thing remaining is the completion of the missions for the campaign.

Word is it could (finally) be done in October - about a year after it was started.
