I think I have a problem, not sure if its the game or my audio setup? I recently bought a 7.1 speaker system though I only have 4 of the 6 speakers hooked up and 1 center speaker and my bass tube, next I bought a 7.1 audio card.

Now for my problem:

When on the bridge in SHIII if I am looking straight ahead I can here the office on the bridge giving me commands but not the engines at my back, if I turn around to hear the engines, looking 180 degrees I hear the engines less than if I was turned 90 degrees where I hear them better? and if I am turned 90 degreea I can hear both the engines and the office on the bridge.

Next, I hear the officer on the bridge and the control room chief better when I am on the bridge outside better than when than when I am in the boat which is muffeled.

Do I not have something set up correct?

Help!! :-)

i had this problem as well, and it seemed like a problem that was all the sudden instead of from the start.

after experimenting i noticed that SH3 had all of my sounds shifted way to the right of center even though the speaker's center knob was in the center position

here is what i did.

1. stand on the bridge looking dead ahead.
2. slowly adjust your center knob to left or right until the sounds appear to be centered. (ie. you hear engine sounds behind you, cutting wake ahead of you.)
3. now, slowly move the mouse look left and right to see if the sounds are properly aligned.

thats it. worked for me... i just adjust the center position back to normal when i exit SH3.

hope this helps
