Hey All,

I'm new to SH and very excited to learn and enjoy it.

I just noticed that the my Stadimeter is automatically selecting the proper ship profile. I have the "manual targeting system" check box, checked. Even when i chose an obviously wrong profile, it still uses the correct one. This initial data collection step is now defeated. Is there something i'm doing wrong?

Patch 1.4
I have one mod..........RFB 1.4

Thanks,

Tom

Not exactly sure what you're referring to but I assume you're referring to the secondary image in the periscope when determining range using the stadimeter (the gizmo at top right when in the periscope view)? Then I assume that you are under the impression that whatever ship you select in the manual is supposed to be the secondary image in the periscope?? That is not the way it works.
This image has nothing to do with the recognition manual per se. The range finder uses a secondary image of WHATEVER ship is being viewed in the periscope.
Once you select the CORRECT ship in your I.D. manual, the MAST HEIGHT in the manual is then incorporated by the TDC in calculating the range based on your bringing the two images together correctly(i.e. the bottom of the top image touches the top of the masts of the bottom image). Using trigonometry, the distance from the submarine to the target can then be calculated by the TDC. You see math does come in handy, LOL!!!;)

If that's not what you're referring to perhaps you've got your options set on "Easy" mode which may override the manual targetting option (if you're getting a little green triangle showing up in your periscope view on your target then you're definitely in 'easy' mode).
