Problem adding Grey Wolves Expansion Mod

I recently purchased SH3 on DVD - version 1.4. I tried to add the Grey Wolves Expansion Mod but my version of SH3 will not accept it - the mod needs 1.4b. However the 1.4b patch will not work on my version of SH3. So what do I do? Any help would be gratefully received. Is the mod a lot better than SH3 1.4?

Ensure you have the correct patch, either US or emea, available from the ubisoft site.
GWX 2.0 is due out in about a fortnight, might as well wait and upgrade to that :up:

Jim is right just make sure you get the right patch and play stock SH3 while you wait for the big release of GWX 2.0, and welcome. :up:

To install GWX 2.0 you will need a clean copy of SH3 patched to v1.4

Are you sure your copy is 1.4, in the main options screen you can check this in the lower right hand corner.

I am sure my version is 1.4 because that is what it says on the Main Menu screen in the bottom corner. This seems to be different to 1.4b which will not patch on top of it. I even tried other SH3 patches from the Ubisoft site but none are compatible. I am wondering if the new Grey Wolves will work with 1.4 as opposed to 1.4b. If not I am going to have a problem. I am even prepared to buy another copy of SH3 but downloads are not available here in the UK and I fear that all DVD's on sale may be 1.4.

If it's a new purchase it might already be patched :hmm:

Uninstall then reinstall but DO NOT attempt to patch it and see if that works :up:

Thanks for that. Reinstalling did the trick. There was something wrong with the original installation but I do not know what - I was not able to install any patches or mods on top of SH3 1.4. I am looking forward to the new version of Grey Wolves.
