I was wondering if it is possible to change the medals that are awarded to you? Let me explain:
On my first mission (beginning of the war) I managed to sink 4 ships and was awarded a "lousy" Bronze Star. In RL skippers were awarded the Navy Cross for just claiming they have sunk 1 ship.
So I was wondering if it is possible to edit some files to get the Navy Cross?

I posted this question in the mod forum as well, but I thought that more people will see it here.

Don't worry, you'll probably rack up more medals in SH4 than all rl subskippers combined. :) The tonnage scored ingame is just outrageous compared to rl. I think I've gotten the Medal of Honor for every patrol on my current career(100% relism, TMaru, RSRDC).

That is the problem. It's easier to get the Medal of Honor then to get a Silver Star or the Navy Cross.
I was really surprised when I read "Silent Victory" and learned that most skippers would be awarded the Navy Cross for a patrol deemed "successful". Therefore I believe that the player should be awarded the same medal.
