8/8/40 approx 2100hrs U48 encounters a rather nicely mauled large convoy in GRID BE93. 3 Black Swans on fire but able to maneuver. i then set a course to get ahead of the convoy. i manage to get in a good position to sink a ladge merch at just over 12k tons:ping: . running at periscope depth and running silent at about 5kts, then slowing to 3, when said escorts fire star shells right over me:stare: . that's when it crashes:damn: :damn: :damn:

edit: oh, i also saw a very disabled uboat astern of the convoy tried to get a screenie of it but that didn't work:x. all that was visible was the stern of it and it had severe damage to the outer skin. seems there are wolf packs, of a sort?
