When getting depth charged and having your deck/aa guns damaged that the crew that normally mans them would get injured?

Game glitch. The crewmen are tied in with the cannon. Sucks but there it is in a nut shell. I just move the cannon crew to damage control when submerged. Such is life for a skipper. ;)

i think in real life ordering your crew to man the cannon while submerged wouldnt be the best idea
i look at it that way
lol that way i dont have to think im wasting my time only for a glitch
Realize, having crew assigned to the gun is different than having them "man" the gun. They will rest and recover even though assigned as a "gun crew."
The purpose is to cut down the steps necessary to put the gun in action.

I don't bother with DG crew anymore, I just select them out of the conning tower watch crew, and make sure I leave port with men with the appropriate skills in my watch. The other advantage of this is that I don't always have crew manning the DG when I call battle stations, whether I'm using the DG or not.
I gather in RL the DG and AA guns would not be automatically manned at BS unless the skipper specifically ordered it. :hmm:
