Likley this has been discussed, but when I docked at Freemantle after my first mission I was pleasantly surprised to find my S Boat all loaded up with torps - no need to select/drag them into the sub.

It was only when into my second mission (March '42) did I notice they were all Mark 14's! Not Mark 10's. I thought that might be an interesting "cheat".

That is until in the Java Sea I lined up a Hiryu Fleet carrier in a Task Force I made contact with and let off 4 at him, depth of 20 ft.

EVERY SINGLE TORP prematured!!! I was so disgusted, next time I got back to port I made sure to remember to offload the Mark 14's and replace them with Mark 10's. At least I got torps with a high probability (at that stage in the war) of going BANG!

In RL that would be impossible IIRC the tubes on an S boat would not accept type XIV torpedoes.
