IGN has posted a review (http://uk.pc.ign.com/articles/838/838498p1.html) of Akella's most recent title and it ain't pretty. Hopefuly "Knights of the Sea" will be a lot better.

To be honest im not holding my breath for that one either. Unfortunatly Akella seems to fallen down since the original Sea Dogs, starting with what was to be Sea Dogs 2 and was changed at the last minute into PotC (which pretty much wrecked the game, fortunatly mods are available to clean that mess up and see what PotC should have been).

Between throwing out (up may be a better word) bug ridden incomplete games and then barely patching them if at all, Akella has sadly ended up on my "avoid buying from" list, which is a shame as Sea Dogs, and even PotC (modded to get rid of all the PotC junk and other bad design aspects) are pretty great pirate games.

Yes, I fully agree, it seems to me they are listening to the publisher's demands too much. First SeaDogs 2 acquires a licence and becomes the watered down POTC then Swashbucklers "Legacy of Drake" is completely changed into the fantasy style "blue vs grey" Civil war action game which seems very similar in style to Atari's own Sid Meier's Pirates and then PT Boats evolves from a straight sim to a strategy game with sim elements. They no longer seem to be able to set a project plan and stick to it. The result being often detrimental to the finished product.

Lets keep our fingers, toes and any other bodily extremities crossed that, the now four years in development, PT boats plays as well as it looks!

Age of Sail 2 could have been great if they had supported it, and I actually enjoyed it for a short time. Apart from that, Akella has sold me nothing but dreck.
