When I die I can't go back

I've died and then tried to load an old save then saved again and quit. The next time I go back to my Old career all my saves are gone. Does anyone know why?

Chris,

You have hit upon my one and only, and BIGGEST gripe with this game :down:, and that is the save situation. Saving in this game is so dash garn complicated and confusing, and you probably deleted the save that you wanted or saved over it without knowing. I have ruined two or three campaigns as a result of this. In one campaign, my save lead to me dieing right then and there...

I wish that there was something else that I could tell you. Maybe someone else can help you. Good luck Kaleun.
