if the kill is really credited to you you will loose 10,000 renown and maybe you are thrown out of the Kriegsmarine. Sinking a hospital ship is even worse than sinking a friendly vessel...

Did the liner blow up? Sometimes when ships are very close, they get damaged by the explosions of other ships. Maybe this happened?

Actually, that other one comes from a Liberty cargo that I sank (American, though).

If I'm not mistaken GWX deems the International Red Cross as a nuetral contry. Just remember it is one type of ship you NEVER want to sink.
