View Full Version : metric or imperial and no map contact question
Hello all can someone explain the difference between metric and imperial and which do most people use and why, sorry if a noob question. Also i want to check the box "no map contact update", can some one explain the best approach to finding and sinking contacts without the updates, is it using sonar while submerged? any help with these 2 questions would be great, thanks all for making this forum a great place to learn.

Metric and imperial are the two standards of measurement. Some countries use one, some the other. Imperial uses feet and miles while metric uses Metres and kilometres.
To be historically accurate you should use imperial as the US are imperial heathens :p while I personally use what I am familiar with (metric). German U-boats used metric so historically U-boaters should use metric. It's nice to have the option but that's all it is.
When using no map contact update you just have to take notice of what your Sonar and radar operators tell you, same with the watch officers. you can also manually use sonar to find where the contact is.
