This is one of the opportunities where I do not know if I should laugh out loud, or feel pity. Something must go terribly wrong in a man's life, I think, that he believes something like this, and acts like this. That, or a great existential fear has taken command of his mind and heart.
It is hilarious and tragic at the same time. At least that's how I think I see them until I do not need to listen to them. If that would happen, I assume that any remaining sympathy immediately would move towards zero.
What to do? If there are children with them, get them out by any means, even at the risk of their parents. Concenring the adult rest, just make sure they can't hurt anybody outside their crazy club, and do not do any greater damage. If they want to sit in their black hole and eventually blow themselves up, okay with me. Just don't allow them to become media stars.
They may be ridiculous, or tragic - but nevertheless they are dangerous.
