How on earth is a picture of a skinhead (the very image of racial intolerance), and one p*ssing into a teacup at that, supposed to indicate that London is cutting edge? That's got to be one of the stupidest adverts I've ever seen, and I worked in advertising for years, so believe me, I've seen some stupid ad ideas!

Uhm - a little tidbit here - the target audience is Belgium. The ad agency that created it is even in the UK - it's a Belgium ad agency. This has nothing to do with the UK at all, except that someone in the UK probably paid this Belgium ad agency to create something, which they did! :D

Ummm... has anyone looked at youth culture and the never ending stream of middle aged people dying to believe they still belong to the youth category? See this is what happens when conservative people control the pulpit. People plus vacation equals party. Ergo crazy drunk skinhead is who to party with! Plus skinheads are associated with punk and punk is associated with Britain... and beer lots of beer.. and parties and concerts etc...

An advert depicting a tattooed skinhead urinating into a china teacup is being used to promote tourism to London.

C'mon! This a great advertising campaign. I have no doubt the same agency is planning a brillant follow-up here in the States with a similar campaign based on whited-hooded klansmen, corrupt southern sheriffs and brutal prison wardens. It's soooo cutting edge!!!!

What passes for marketing nowdays I'll never understand. :nope:
