I was having trouble making posts :damn: --looks like it finally got worked out!
I've read alot of posts over the past few weeks--and learned alot from the skippers here. I recently got a new computer, and can now run SH4--and am loving it. The excellent video tutorials out there helped me immensely. On my first career patrol last night, I bagged 11K. :arrgh!:
Anyway, I look forward to participating on the boards in the future.
Good Hunting!

brandtryan,
Welcome aboard. There's so many great people here who give a helping hand and the modders are just great. A cool 11K on your first time out, GO GET EM! Glad to hear your new machine is working out for you, and you can play SH4.
Welcome! I just started her in January, I think, man time flies. You have come at a good time, SH4 is flourishing and is an awesome sim. Enjoy!
Yes, there is a wealth of information here in the forum and the folks are very willing to help and answer questions. Oh and the SEARCH function works a treat!

Welcome aboard brandtryan! :arrgh!:
Congrats on the 11k.
Read the "sticky" posts at the top of each page and either your questions will be answered, or you'll be confused like some of us other swabs :rotfl:
I think you'll find everyone here will be more than happy to help you out as you get started. Good hunting! :sunny:

Damn..i read this topic and have a "flash back" to 1976 :o (normaly somebody should play a tune now :rotfl:)
On the M903 (sig) we had a ritual for a rookie.
It was always the bootswain who started by asking the guy to get the key to the bilges for him and that he thought that the cox'n had it .
When he finaly found the cox'n ..this one would send him to the chief engeneer and he send him to the chief electrician ...than navigator ...second in command and finaly ..the captain .
The poor fellow was a few houres busy with this ....time enough for us to hang his sailorbag high and dry (not always dry)....yup ..in the mast.
When the guy took everything with a smile ...we knew he would be ok....if he reacted outherwise....we knew we had some tweaking to do .
WELCOME ABOARD SKIPPER;)

Sounds like a good way to get him to know who the officers are.

I've been hanging around here for sometime and this site has turned this sim into an addiction.:p The site offers all the things that make SH4 great for me. The modders here are just unreal and all of the historical reference, support etc.... just make the immersion that much more encompassing. Its a great community.:yep:
Welcome aboard. This is a fine crew here.
Damn fine crew indeed...
