RIP Norman Mailer

Just heard on the radio that Norman Mailer has died. Didn't always agree with everything he wrote, but the world is definitely a lesser place without men like that. How can you not like a guy that said his one luxury item he would have, when he appeared on Desert Island Discs, would be a spliff, which he would smoke on a perfect day? To the hilarious outrage of the BBC presenter.

Don't care for his novels, never read any of them, but saw him on two or three occasions on TV, using his laconic humour for making some clever, even razorsharp political comments. Can't have been a stupid man, and judging by some shining details from his wild life he must have enjoyed life to the fullest. so take care you get away, Mr. Mailer, and if you meet the devil one day, shoot him. :) :up:
