career disappears

Hello again folks;

Sorry if this topic has already been brought, but a look with the search option does not bring up any information.

I am using SH3 commander 2.7 with the GWX fix and GWX 1.03. Twice now I have started a career and played and saved, and then the next day gone back to play again only to find out that when I picked saved career there are no files in the save screen of the game. It must be picking up something, or else it wouldn't let me go to the save game screen, but nothing shows.

I never had this problem before with SH3 C 2.5 and GW.

HELP, I am getting tired of restarting carrers. I use SH3 Commander because I hate crew fatigue and find it adds nothing to the game.

Players who have just one career in stock Silent Hunter III will occasionally find the content of their save game appears to be empty even though they saved the game successfully, the save game points are present, and the save game is still present in their saved game folder. This is a stock Silent Hunter III behavior and seems to happen when you have deleted the career named after your “player name” and replaced it with a name of your own creation, so the GWX team suggests you create a “dummy” career (e.g., for Leutnant z. S. Fubar) before starting your real career to ensure this does not happen.

If this does happen, rename your career by appending an “x” to the name, exit, and restart Silent Hunter III. Verify if Silent Hunter III can now read the contents of the save game; if so, you can rename the career back to its original name. If not, you will need to start a new career.
