Easy,
Go back to that linked vid you have and hit the the link to the uploader's list of videos. (hint, upper right, his name is hawaiicop).. There you'll find the part 2 and a few other of his videos. :)
That being said, I was surprised to see an afro-american man in the crew. I thought the army was still segregated in that time (ie, I'm positive the air force was, for instance...) ??
lol easy indeed  thanks Paulposition:up:

You don't need to see part two, I can tell you what happens... America wins.

hI chock :D
Is there a way to copy those two films for my own personal veiwing and share with friends on my home dvd player and big screen ?
Downloading stuff from Youtube? Not that I am aware of, they put their own compression and file formatting on things as far as I know.
You can do a screen capture as you play them in full screen mode with a suitable utility (ie. FRAPs or something), or look for the footage on another site that will allow stuff like that (such as veoh), but I think you are stuck with watching it on youtube, unless you do some fancy screengrabbing, but...
In theory you can also output the signal from your graphics card of a youtube video fullscreen to a video recorder and tape it or record it on DVD, but I haven't done that sort of thing for years, although I do know it is possible, cos I used to tape my animations that way to make a 'showreel'. Any half decent graphics card should have a socket whereby you can put out the signal to a recorder, sometimes even a dedicated TV out, or, failing that, you can buy something which you put in your video cable line which will allow output to a TV, I have one of these, but I have not used it for a long (i.e. since Win98) time, although I know you can still get them, and they are probably a lot cheaper these days, I got mine years ago from maplins, and I think it cost nearly 100 quid back then. I bet you could get one for 20 quid these days:rotfl:
A smarter option might be to seek out the original footage from the US War Department archives, most stuff like that is public domain, which is why it often shows up on history documentaries, as it is a cheap way to fill screen time, just bang a narration over it and you're in business.

Thx CHOCK
You gave me alot of doable options.
I'd love to see these clips on my LCDbigscreen 50" and make use of surround.

The chances are that in that film he was a steward on a submarine. It's sad to realize that was the only job a "negro" could have in those days. Former Chief of Staff Colin Powell was in town yesterday for a sold out speech. It's good to know that the world has improved since then.

There is a way, I can't remember off hand the website that I use and the program I have at my house but it is possible. I can check we I get home and have some spare time if you'd like. I download stuff off it all the time to show little clips to my classes.

nice find.
Anyone else notice how all the old films like that the narrator always sounds the same, and the music melodramatic? :rotfl:

Nice
RDP
Use Firefox and the DownloadHelper (http://www.downloadhelper.net/) plug-in.
It's currently the only one that I know of that will work on Youtube.

I would appreciate it very much. Either post here or PM me.
What I want to do is combine these clips and others to fill a dvd.
Hope this will be a doable thing.:yep:

You could use jdkbph's method (never tried that way but I'm sure it works) or you could download Riva FLV Encoder 2.0 @ http://rivavx.de/index.php?downloads0&L=3. Then go to Youtube or wherever and get the url of the clip you want. Then open up http://keepvid.com/ and paste the url into the box, in the second box select Youtube then download. Then click on the "Download Link" option and then "Save". When you type in the name you want to save the file as you need to add .flv to the end. When it finishes downloading open up Riva FLV encoder. In the Input video box on the top browse your comp to find the video you just saved with the .flv extension. In the Output section pick where you want to finished video to be saved also on the "destination video" line make sure to change the extension of the video from .flv to .mpeg or whatever kind of file you want (I've never tried anything besides .mpeg). Then click the FLV Encode button on the bottom. If this is way too complicated you could also go to http://www.mediaconverter.org/ and follow the instruction in the main panel box (WARNING: this actually takes a lot longer though!!!).
If anyone is a heavy metal fan get onto Youtube and do a search for Iced Earth, they have 3 songs that go with clips from the movie Gettysburg (The Devil to Pay, Hold at all Costs and High Water Mark). I show them to my classes when I teach the Civil War.
P.S. If I violated any forum rules with this, please delete this post and accept my humble appologies.

Copy the full Youtube link from the address bar in this box.
http://www.techcrunch.com/get-youtube-movie/
To download a video to your computer, enter the YouTube (http://www.crunchbase.com/company/youtube) URL for the video in the box above (example (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9AlH2oYedfk&eurl=)). It will be downloaded in flv format - use VLC (http://www.videolan.org/) or another compatible player to view it.
Save as ????.flv to view.
Pretty easy way and very effective.
