Add credit card option, and I am in.
No card option, no donation.
Until then, the subsim Amazon shop must do.
Zero interest over here to subscribe with Paypal.

Sorry.

Paypal is not popular throughout germany, btw. Even at German Ebay it is used rarely only.

Skybird, you can use your credit card through paypal without signing up. They will act just like any other company that takes credit cards.

How's that? The donation button just leaves me a "retry option", or to jump to their mainpage. Checking the mainpage of Paypal only leaves me the option to check some advertising information of theirs, or to sign up to do anything.

No, not here, with medium IE settings and page allowed to place cookies.

Is that option an inside-US option only maybe? Note that your quote reads " (where available) "

Imageshack is currently down or overloaded, but i can place the screenshot anytime they are working again.

Back before (two days before) Neal placed me in the brig last time I inquired as to how to use Amazon.com to contribute to Subsim. It was a $200+ purchase. Needless to say since I was locked out for a month, I made the purchase and Subsim was placed in the same place Neal placed me.

Now he wants money. I don't reward bad decisions with my money.

You were locked out because you cannot follow the forum rules. You placed yourself in the brig. Sorry, a donation will not allow you to troll and bait in these forums.

Strictly speaking it cannot be a donation. Subsim isn't a charitable organization. Contribution perhaps.

I don't think it has anything to do with being noble TAK. It has much to do with reality when it comes to asking for money.

Now when speaking ones mind is judged 'useless and antagonistic' is, you know, undesireable. ????????????????????????

As far as bandwith is concerned, out of the US posters use far more than I do.

Because this is a private internet forum. You do not have absolute freedom of speech here. If you want to play, you must adhere to the rules. This means no trolling, baiting or chasing other members around to settle a grudge.

As you wish. You post in a highly aggressive and provocative manner. Your most recent poll, with it's highly politicized answers is a perfect example. You know the buttons to push to get other members wound up, then place the bait and wait for those members to come in and go for that worm. Of course, this was all to put an end to 'US bashing', which was largely absent on this forum until you posted that thread. Thus, you create your own conflict. This is a textbook definition of baiting.

Of course, when confronted with this truth, you wrap yourself in the blanket of 'free speech' and proclaim yourself an advocate for the SubSim membership, becoming all the more belligerent in the process. This forces moderators, like me, to have to chase you around the forum, putting out the fires that you started, and I am getting very tired of doing so.

I apologize for making you moderate. My bad. The kitchen can become hot.
My poll was nothing more than an effort to understand why the rest of this board regards the US so poorly. I have lost count how many anti-US threads have been posted without the same accusations of ' highly aggressive and provocative' charged toward those posters. An equal hand would have been a ppreciated by those of us whom dislike the attacks.

I have already broken my personal rule (too many times) by responding to moderators, but I thought you should know my feelings.

Back on the topic of donating, I don't see how it should be related to how much you post or do not, I regard it more as a case of how much one enjoys using the forum and site. I think that should be the best measure of whether anyone thinks they should donate. Personally, I am quite happy to throw some money at Subsim, because I get a lot out of it.

If I want to learn about a subject, I usually buy a few books on it, but there is plenty I have learned from Subsim in terms of queries about submarines and much more besides, and that probably extends way beyond what I might have learned from perhaps one of the books that I have bought, which may have cost ten or twenty quid. So when you view it like that, making a donation is a small price to pay. And it is not as if you cannot do it without getting something for your efforts either if you prefer that to a pure donation, buying a copy of the Almanac is one, as is making other purchases via the site.

And here is another good reason to do so, especially if you are not in the US: Currently, the Dollar stands at 2.11 Dollars to Sterling, which means if you are in the UK (and most of Europe for that matter), your donation will go a long way.

Anyway, I'm off to put my money where my mouth is...

I donated awhile ago simply because I first stumbled accross this site when playing SH2 and since I have downloaded more mods then an expansion pack could fit. Mind you that's over Sh2, SH3 and SH4 but I felt it was time to support the site that supports my games.

Plus I wanted a cool avatar. :rotfl:

On the 8th of November, at 1:38 am I wrote THIS, to be precise:

I know by multiple experiences now that it is only a question of time until you (Waste Gate) will run into troubles with people and the moderation again, like often before, and prove all by yourself by your very own acts that I am right on target with my assessment of you. You proved it before, and you will prove it again, it is a safe bet.

All I need to do is lean back, enjoy my coffee, and wait.

And just 26 hours later, on the 9th of November at 3:38 by coincidence, we enjoy your latest pathetic stage act right here (including the obligatory erratic quoting).

That is almost like express delivery on demand. :dead:
