The All Black Crew

Is anyone still getting the black sillouhette crew after the flickering lights? I'm pretty sure I've been getting this since version 1.0 Just started having a dabble with TM and ROW and notice I'm still getting them. Seems only way I can lose them is to exit game and re-load. :damn:

Wondering if this is an anti-aliasing, texture filtering or some other graphical tweak related bug. :hmm:

Have most people experienced this or is it a minority thing?

Had this happen a couple days ago, sone crew has black patches, one officer was pretty much all black, doesnt happen all the time in my games :arrgh!:

Sailing with the 1.3 patch + Latest Trigger Maru.

This happens after lights starts to flicker, prefferably in the conning tower.

Looks like being hit by that black-grease towel from das Boot.:-?

Does changing stations fix it as in going to 2d map and going back to 3d view ?

How about a save game, exit and load the save ?

I realize these are lame assed work arounds but worth trying.

Tried entering diffrent stations, no go. Didn't try to save and reload game, might be worth a shot. This happen in the command room, sub went almost pitch black with some gray, thought was gonner sinking by the bow, threw engines flank reverse and blew ballast, saved my arse, but crew didn't fair to well, looked like they got into a black paint fight with the Helmsmen looking like he got the worst of it. :arrgh!:

I haven't seen this yet. Wonder if it's a crew graphic effect triggered on a near death that doesn't complete or clean up. If so, a game restore prior to the damage should get you back to normal.

Nice eyes, but they're just a tad freaky looking. The other day, I had headless crew but their eyes were intact. That was strange!

I've only seen this once, glad my trusty "Brownie" was at my side...:D

I am pretty sure I fixed it with these file's I posted.

I tryed to force the game to use the lightning in the campaign layers and inturn ended up with that problem you are experiencing.

Please download and install this file to stop the effect.

If you are using ROW and downloaded any of the Special effect's file's with the zone's in them this is a fix for it. Happens after a thunder storm every time and this stops the effect.

I have not updated the Download file's yet because it was requested of me to try and make the smoke effect's more relaistic and it involves the same file's I am sorry for the problem.

Thank you for your efforts Leo. I tried your fix in the hopes that it might solve my problem, but sadly it does not.

I've tried various AA/AF settings, and different graphics settings, including resolutions and refresh rates. I was unaware this was an issue since 1.0. The thing that I did change recently, and prehaps this is why I suddenly have this problem(?), was u/g my video card from an ATI to nVidia. I have tried both the 169.01 and 169.09 drivers, but this has not helped.

Ryan, what type of video card do you have?
