I just wanted to post a little something for those of you that plan on upgrading sometime soon and have around $2500 to burn ;). This is assuming you are keeping your drives, kb, mouse and monitor. It is better to build your own then to buy if you have the knowledge. Look around and see what PC manufacturers offer you for twice the cost of this suggested build, you will be surprised.

For under $2500 This is what you can get from newegg.

Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 Conroe 3.0GHz LGA 775 Processor, 1333 MHZ FSB
$279.99 (SH4 Does not utilize quad core technology plus not enough performance gain for the $$$ to go quad at the moment.)

Intel SCSI Controller Card
$159 (Need it for the fast SCSI Drive)

MSI OC GeForce 8800Ultra 768MB 384-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 660mhz MEMORY
$569.99 (Good card for SH4 and just about anything else)

Direct X 10.1 Cards should be coming out sometime soon. DX10.1 is not supported by DX 10 cards so that should be considered we you upgrade. Theres been alot of anger towards microsoft about this and I understand why, so for us planning to upgrade id wait to purchase my video card. I hope this information was of use for you guys and Remember, the latest technology is usually released between Nov-Feb.
