Video from the STS-120 launch I attended in Oct. I was at the VIP Banana Creek viewing sit 4 mile from the pad.

Video doesn't do it justice. The roar from the SRBs literally shakes the ground. My friend attached a static camera to the fence the noise shook it so much the image stabilizer could not keep up.

It's obvious all those are fakes, just like the moon landings:rotfl:
Nice pics, I've only ever seen the Shuttle when it was on the back of that Boeing 747 years ago (which was cool), but I'd really like to see it go up.

You have to hurry only 10 launches left ending in 2010. There is a possibility to add two more to fix Hubble. Then the shuttle program will end and Aries will start around 2014. I hoping they will schedule on last night shot, those are amazing.
