you're being depthcharged but you remain at periscope depth and the DPs go right past you; deeper than you really are:-? . methinks the AI still is all that intelligent?

Thats the idea i thought?
detonate the depth charges about 5 - 10 meters deeper than the sub actually is in order to cause the most damage and maybe blow it up out of the water?

no, i it seems they're dropping them deeper than that and i wasn't taking any damage

Maybe they have a minimum depth that they are at, so that they don't blow the ass end off the destroyer that dropped them?
Also, I think ASDIC had some trouble tracking targets running shallow, at least early war. Maybe that has something to do with it. And it lost contact for a bit as it passed over the target before dropping its pattern, so that might have something to do with it as well, if this is represented in game. If you are maneuvering as the enemy closes in, this lost contact could throw their solution off.

well, for now atleast, i'll stay relatively shallow and still be able to set up a stern shot:ping:
